Fame at last!

There was an exhibition of an Oscar winning costumier's wedding collection at Duff House. It was on throughout January, February and ends this month.

At last I got time to go and have a look round and the designer was there, she hasn't been there on the other days but she was there yesterday. She won her Oscar for the costumes for Dangerous Liasons, she also designed and made the wedding gown in a quirky Christina Ricci film "Penelope" (that dress was actually at the exhibition - it's tiny!).

We started talking and she'd heard of Drac-in-a-Box, had visited the website and liked it a lot! Unbeknown to me she lives about 300 yards from my own front door, so we're having her round to dinner. What a strange world we live in!

An adventure in Gothic Steam Punk

We've been having fun playing with designs which caress the genre of Steam Punk whilst keeping the gothic edge we know and love, I call it Gothic Steam Punk. We hope you enjoy this fusion. Modelled by the amazing [info]shadowjen and photographed by the uber talented [info]gothicimage. Styling was a symbiosis, a pooling of ideas and talents if you will, realised by this awesome pair.

Last few photos from the shoot

The last few photos from the shoot are now going online. So the entire photo shoot should be online at Drac-in-a-Box and ready to buy by tomorrow morning. I have two more sets I'd like to share as I love them so much. The two behind the cut are actually quite scary, so don't click if you're easily frightened. They aren't as frighteing in a photo as they were on set though.

I set up the scene by myself in this wonderful old bathroom inside the abandoned mental asylum. As I was working the wind picked up, but it didn't howl, it groaned, zombie style groaning. Here I was in this scary bathroom by myself, fake blood all over the place with zombie groaning all around me. I was soooo scared. As soon as I finished I was out of there. So when we three came back and Miss Millicent was doing her scary stuff I was so frightened I kept closing my eyes, you know when you were a kid and the cyber men came onto doctor who and you hid your face? Well it was just that sort of terror.

So to the pics......

Just one this time. This photo shows the models in three business attires. The story is they're planners who are redeveloping this whole asylum site to create a gothic theme park ;-) But someone from the past is watching.

Thank you for all the wonderful comments on the beautiful photos I've uploaded so far from our 2007 photo shoot. I now have some more to show you. These were taken on day 2 of our three day shoot. This time the location is Duff House, Banff. A beautiful stately home and art gallery which is well worth a visit if you ever find yourself in Aberdeenshire.

The photographs are property of Drac-in-a-Box and Gothic Image and are subject to copyright. I would respectfully remind people not to repost these elsewhere without our express permission.

There are more beautiful photos behind the cut tag....

This is my second post on carmillavoiez and my third on dracinabox club. I am so very, very pleased with the quality of the photos from this latest photo shoot. I am so excited I've decided to fill your LJ friends pages further. I hope (nay I'm sure) you'll forgive me.

The locations are still Haddo House, courtesy of National Trust for Scotland. There are more images after the cut tag....
